Dr. Derek Sutherland is the Co-Founder and CEO of CTFusion, a fusion energy company founded in 2015 in Seattle, WA. Dr. Sutherland is the Principal Investigator of an ongoing ARPA-E project to begin the commercialization process of a novel fusion energy concept called the Dynomak.

Dr. Sutherland received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in Aeronautics and Astronautics and his B.S. in Nuclear Science and Engineering and in Physics from MIT. He has experience working on various public and private fusion energy projects during his career, and was a Forbes 30 under 30 in Energy in 2015.
