He possesses over 33 years of experience at Schlumberger, of which the last 23 years have been spent focusing on IT, Security, Risk. Privacy and Auditing. He was responsible for developing the overall cyber security long term strategy for Schlumberger worldwide and is recognized for his leadership and management in all aspects of Cyber Security throughout the company and within the community. He has served in the advisory board of many major security vendors, such as Watchfire (now IBM), McAfee, Palo Alto Networks and others.
He has been an active member of ISSA for the past 14 years holding multiple board positions. He was the president of the South Texas chapter in 2007, that year the South Texas chapter won the ‘Chapter of the Year’ award from ISSA International. In 2014 he was named ISSA Fellow. He also teaches CISSP preparation classes, and presents new security technologies.
